Are women still protected during the sugar pill of birth control?
Q. My girlfriends on birth control (almost 2 months) and i want to know how it works. I know she takes a pill every day but when her period is supposed to come, she takes something called a sugar pill. If she ends her period a day early but still has one day left of the sugar pill, is she still protected? Basically what im asking is, is she still protected during the sugar pill?... Are they protected every day as long as theyre taking the pill correctly?

A. Yes, the birth control pill mimics a woman's hormone cycle. When she takes the sugar pill, it is telling her body it's that time of the month. The pills aren't immediate release. Although you do know, BC pills are 100% even if taken perfectly, right? Something like 99%, but still not 100%

What is more important, protecting our protected rights or focusing upon the issues for this election?
Q. I have stood up on many occasions during my lifetime for the protected rights of my fellow Americans; and on occasion I struggle as much as the next person to respect people with different ethnicity's; but I cannot stand corrupt individuals exploiting these differences on behalf of a candidate to deliberately lead the attention of the voters away from the real issues of the election: this should be illegal and the parties or individuals involved in these counterproductive activities should be exposed like criminals or corrupt politicians.

A. If our rights are already protected, then there is no need for further protection. The issues, on the other hand, are always preeminent, and they are certain not discrepant from our rights.

What does write protected mean on camera?
Q. I have a Nikon coolpix camera. Everything worked fine until I put the memory card in the computer and the put it back in the camera. It now will not allow me to take any pictures, it keeps saying that memory card is write protected. Can someone please tell me what's going on and how to fix it?
Asked by weezy116 - Thu Feb 19 15:17:04 2009 - - 1 Answers - 4 Comments
A. The card is set so that you cannot add or erase anything on it. There may be a little red tab on one side. Use your fingernail to slide it over. "j The Write Protect Switch SD memory cards are equipped with a write protect switch. Pictures cannot be recorded or deleted and the memory card cannot be formatted when this switch is in the Lock position." The source is for the L6 model manual. If you have a different model, look for "Inserting Memory Cards" in the table of contents for your manual. All SD memory cards have that little tab.

My hidden folders are turning into protected operating system files. How do I change them back to normal?
Q. I am using Windows XP. Some of the folders that I have hidden, which were certainly not operating system files when I first downloaded them, have for some reason turned into protected files. Now I am unable to delete them. Anyone know of some procedure or a program that might be able to change them back?

A. Yes,maybe it is infected by some viruses. I met a virus, which have my some folders hidden, and made some fakery folders so as to misleading me. I think some viruses often change windows registry or some system setting,so,I use registry guarder, antivirus tool. If you have no idea to change it back manually, you should try some tools. Give you a tool, I am using now.

Why is it a federal crime to touch a Federally Protected bird egg though legal to kill unborn children?
Q. Unhatched eggs of lots of birds are federally protected because they are considered living. Why aren't children protected this same way prior to living outside the womb? How can Federal law state that a bird's egg is a viable living bird with all of the rights of an adult bird though a child in the womb is worthless tissue with no rights? It doesn't make sense. Killing innocent children should at least be as illegal as touching a duck's egg during nesting season.

What is the chance of contracting hiv from protected anal sex and unprotected oral sex?
Q. Last week, I had protected anal sex with another man. I also had unprotected oral sex. I am really worried about Hiv. Should i be concerned?

A. Obviously if the man in question is HIV negative, the chance of him giving you HIV is zero. Both the activities you list are relatively low risk for transmission. There have been a couple rare cases of people acquiring HIV through only oral sex. In general unprotected oral sex is pretty safe as far as HIV goes. Current thinking is you'd almost have to have an open cut or sore in your mouth, since the mouth and stomach are extremely hostile places for invading viruses. Protected anal sex is much safer than unprotected anal sex. If the man giving was HIV positive, there is still some risk, mostly with condom slippage or breakage. Assuming the condom remained intact, you shouldn't worry too much. HIV testing is pretty cheap these days and… [cont.]

A. What the 1st Amendment means is that the government will not stop you. That is hardly the same thing as saying you'll be protected. If you burn a flag in public, folks around you may react negatively.

How are the inner linings of the stomach and intestine protected from damage by digestive enzymes?
Q. How are the inner linings of the stomach and intestine protected from damage by digestive enzymes? All answers are appreciated.
Asked by Legend - Tue Feb 9 16:41:47 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Your epithelial cells secrete a mucus lining that acts as a physical and chemical buffer/barrier to the digestive enzymes and prevents them from digesting your own intestinal cells. In the case where this does happen, it is called an ulcer. Usually one portion of your digestive tract is weakened by trauma or genetic defect, and the digestive enzymes and the low pH begin to digest your own intestinal cells, causing irritation, inflammation, and pain.

A. In the US, you need to file a trademark. I think the fee is $350 per trademark (the name and logo are separate). If you need a lawyer involved because someone has already filed this or you don't know how to complete the paperwork, the cost goes up. You can get and file the paperwork at US office of Patents and Trademarks. www.uspto.gov

How to rip files from a protected CD?
Q. Hey all, First off, I want to say that I'm not planning on doing anything illegal. I bought a DVD and I want to transfer it to my laptop so that I can watch it on the plane during my trip without having to cart around the DVD cases and all that. I'm not gonna be making illegal copies and all that jazz. But anyway... This DVD is protected, it's from HBO, and I don't know how to rip it to my computer as a file. I've heard that some rippers can damage a DVD, and I want to do a straight to DVD rip. It has episodes on it, and I either want the straight copy with the menu, or just copies of the episodes. What can I download in order to get these protected eps? Also, if anyone knows of a burner that will take the protection off DVDs… [cont.]

You could choose subtitle, audio track, and customize output video and audio quality. And you could watch your these movies on your pc/ iPod / PSP / mobile phone / laptop / PDA.

Can multiple bathrooms be protected by a GFCI devise if rooms are on different floors ?
Q. 2 story house with baths on each floor , can those baths be protected by a single devise ?
Asked by mtrent61 - Sat Mar 14 21:31:13 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Depends on the wiring of the house. If all of the bathroom's outlet's are wired together, yes. If not, no. turn off the power before you start! Take each outlet out from the outlet box, disconnect the wires, separate them, restore power take a voltage tester to find out which two wires are live. These are the "Line" side of our GFCI. (black is hot, white is neutral)The other wires go to the 'load" side of the GFCI. Check the power at the other bathroom. if you have power on two of the wire, trip the GFCI, and the power should be off now. If you feel the LEAST bit uncomfortable doing this, DON"T!
